Unity on the Eastern Shore is a growing church with a new ministry. We now provide a cover school for Alabama parents who want to home school their children.

In Alabama, children may only be home schooled under the supervision of a church school. Children from any county in Alabama may attend our church school. What this means is that parents will use our school name to school their children at home. This will give Unity on the Eastern Shore the chance to provide a ministry to parents who want to school their children at home.

Services provided by Academy on the Eastern Shore:

​

• Compliance with Alabama compulsory attendance requirements by enrollment in an Alabama school as defined in legal code 16-28-1.The school is also in complete compliance with Alabama legal codes 16-28-3 and 16-28-7 of the State of Alabama.

• Submission of church school enrollment form on parent’s behalf (Alabama law code 16-28-7).

• Scheduling enrichment activities as interest and participation allow.

Academy on the Eastern Shore exists to support parents in their right to school their children in a responsible manner. Academy on the Eastern Shore does not accept responsibility for the education of enrolled students. Rather, the school allows parents a means through which they assume responsibility for their children’s education. Academy on the Eastern Shore accepts children/families from the entire state of Alabama regardless of race or religion. No statement of faith is required for admission. We applaud your efforts and are grateful for your mindfulness.
